Recipe scrapbook

This is the recipe scrapbook my aunt made for me for Christmas. I think it's so pretty and creative. Take a look!

Tim on his 18th birthday

With all the hubabaloo of Christmas going on, I forgot to post pictures of my "baby" on his 18th birthday (shame on me) - which was the 19th of this month. Here he is at his drumset...

And here he is pretending to smoke a cigar! Dig the retro suit he has on?! It's Brian's - from 1986! Tim said he is wearing his "birthday suit". (Get it? ha ha)

Christmas Day

Uncle Jim and Aunt Suzie with Zippo...

Tim got his very own chopsticks - and yes, he knows how to use them...

Phil playing with his new texting phone...

This t-shirt says it all for Mr. Handyman...

He is so freakin' photogenic

How cold IS it??

When I woke up Sunday morning, there was ice lining the inside of my living room window...

Christmas table setting

I found these pretty bird plates at Pier 1 Imports. Then, lo and behold, I saw a little spread in Better Homes and Gardens magazine using these plates in a table setting that used a white "tablecloth" (it was really bedding) and a plaid "runner" (a plaid scarf). I had the opposite items - a plaid tablecloth and white runner. My white "runner" is, I think, some kind of bedding item. It was my grandma's. Maybe it's to be folded and put at the end of a bed? That's what I use it for in the summer.

New member of the family

This is Archer Bruce, my cousin's 7-week old baby. We haven't had a baby in our family in 10 years, so we're all thrilled about baby Archer!

Meow!

Tim took this picture (using his new digital SLR camera) of Zippo on the heating pad. I think he's meditating.

Here's another one Tim took...me and Zippo.

Thanksgiving 2008

Me and my boys...Tim, Phil, me, Brian...

Phil and TIm load up their plates as Grandmom looks on...

We are very blessed to have so much good food...

The pretty table awaits the dinner guests...

Brian carves the turkey...

Zippo had surgery

Zippo had a lesion removed from his side the other day. He's doing great, despite pulling out one of the stitches already! Here he is curled up next to my leg as I sat in bed with my laptop...

I think he has such a sweet face. See the little brown mark at the bottom of his nose? That's where our pet rat, Dot bit him! I held Zippo up to the cage to say hello to Dot and Dot did a little more than say hello. Zippo is now threatening to eat her for Thanksgiving dinner.

Pumpkin Guts & Silly String

"Ewww, pumpkin guts!" protests my niece, Hannah....

While her older sister is disgusted too, but in a quieter way...

And then there's this fellow, whose wife thought it'd be cute to put Silly String on his head and take a picture...

A day out in the country

Me (not pictured), hubby, my mom (red shawl), and aunt (orange shirt) spent the day out in the country, touring 12 farms and enjoying flea market items, crafts, antiques, live country music, and a gorgeous fall day...

Even Lulu, my mom's Pomeranian puppy, enjoyed the day...

I loved this fall window display..

There were lots of pumpkins...

And roosters in windows watching us...

Sunset from the kames

Me, my hubby, and my aunt went on an evening hike in Glacial Park. This 3000 acre parcel of land is now owned by the Conservation District. They say it was formed 10,000 years ago by the glaciers. We enjoyed a mile hike up to the kames, watched the awesome sunset, then hiked back down by the light of the moon.

Wall decor

I bought this window frame at a craft show. I have it hanging on my living room wall. The wall is large, so I think the frame needs "something" on each side of it for balance and to fill out the wall, but I don't want it to look like "too much".

Fur baby

What a silly kitty...always has to be where the action is! In this case, he's on Tim's desk, watching him play a computer game.

Sweetness...

Autumn light

I loved how the late afternoon light was coming in through the living room windows yesterday...

spilling over the autumn potpourri on the buffet...

and creating interesting shadows.
